Marketing Angels Collaborates with Xero to help creators build their brands

Tracy Steffensen

One of the most cost effective and powerful marketing activities that smaller businesses can undertake is to collaborate with non-competing brands who have a similar target audience.

So you can imagine how pleased we were to have the opportunity to collaborate recently with leading financial SME software brand Xero.

The team at Xero approached Marketing Angels to provide marketing consulting services to the winners of a competition they were running in conjunction with the hugely successful Finders Keepers Markets.

Our Chief Angel, Michelle Gamble, spent a day with each of the competition winners, helping them brainstorm a marketing approach to assist them in growing their business.

We got to work with some fantastic innovative, hardworking and creative business owners.

KOJA: Real food, Feel Better

Kate Johansson founded KOJA as she felt that a lot of all natural products where still loaded with a high sugar content and she wanted to provide an alternative. She has created a range of natural low sugar protein bars and other protein products.

Kate has an established Natural Protein Bar brand that she has built from the ground up. Having previously been on Shark Tank, Kate has proven that she has a great business idea. Having recently achieved the milestone of having KOJA stocked nationally in Coles in the health food category. Kate and Michelle worked together to brainstorm a marketing strategy to help her maximise her most recent opportunity and achieve the next level of growth for her business.

Here’s what Kate had to say about our session.

“We have a lot of work to do over the next few months and the work we’ve done with you has really helped to clarify everything. I really enjoyed our session and I feel more confident in our brand strategy moving forward. I’m looking forward to introducing the ideas we worked on and that will start to action asap. I appreciate how quickly you were able to grasp my brand and also understand the challenges of my business. This meant we were able to get through a lot in just a few hours.”

We look forward to seeing the KOJA brand become a household name. You can also follow KOJA on Instagram to track the KOJA journey as they grow.

Here’s what Lynda has to say about the process.

“Michelle helped me to develop a marketing mindset for Homelea Lass. We clarified the overall growth targets, which were mapped back to sales and sales value.  Michelle analysed the data from the web site and gave me practical helpful suggestions to help me achieve our goals and grow our audience. She also gave me guidance on how to reposition my brand and messaging slightly to help me be found more easily online. We’ve seen a significant increase in online sales are a result of this.”
