After 13 years in the public service and 3 years working as the Business Development Manager in a small company selling training to the Government, Jean McIntyre decided on a career change.
She completed a Graduate Diploma in Marketing and went into business under licence to Marketing Angels as the Regional Director for Canberra.
Jean says the great thing about working for herself is being able to do the
work she wants to do that makes a real-life difference to people in
business.
Jean is: Promotions Manager for the Chamber of Women in Business, active
member of the Business Networking International Sunrize Chapter, member of
the Australian Marketing Institute and was recently appointed to the board
of Exhibition Park in Canberra Corporation.
Jean has found that her business has offered some great opportunities to use her marketing and communications skills to work with community groups. Among other things she recently developed an emergency communications strategy for Lifeline Canberra, has raised donations for Snowy Hydro Southcare, delivered a marketing strategy workshop for Raise the Gong womens'cancer charity in Wollongong and mentored a Young Achievement Award group at ANU which went on to win National Company of the Year.
Jean's community work recently won her the 'Outstanding Community Spirit Award' with the Chamber of Women in Business.
