Marketing Angels Go Green
Marketing Angels have teamed up with environmental certification company GreenBizCheck to look at ways of reducing our environmental footprint. We've done this because it's important for our future, but we also see being green as giving us a competitive advantage.
Global warming, extreme weather, catastrophic bushfires, flooding, pollution, toxic waste, deforestation, species extinction and water shortages are now mainstream issues - most of which are widely accepted to have been caused by human activity.
Some sobering Australian facts:
- 12 of the hottest years have occurred in the last 13
years
- Australia is the highest per capita CO2 emitter in the
world
It is estimated that Australians annually waste a staggering $700 - 900 million on stand-by energy alone. Many organisations still leave lights and other electrical appliances on after work hours, on weekends and during holidays. To compound matters air-conditioners work even harder to cool nothing other than the vacant offices.
Taking Action
We have clearly identified the need to make our business more sustainable and have begun our cost-effective GreenBizcheck certification programme. GreenBizCheck's online, entry-level concept will save us money, energy and water, reduce waste and optimise transportation and travel.
By greening our operations we can save thousands of dollars, create new revenue opportunities, strengthen community connections and help attract and retain both environmentally conscious staff and clients.
GreenBizCheck is a firm believer of working with trusted Australian organisations and is partners with the Australian Rainforest Foundation (ARF). ARF is a not-for-profit organisation that regenerates rainforests in Australia with its operations in the World Heritage listed Daintree Forest and other rainforests in Australia. ARF is supported and endorsed by both the Commonwealth and QLD governments.
Marketing Angels and GreenBizCheck look forward to working together with some of their clients to make a difference and help protect our vulnerable planet. GreenBizCheck can be contacted directly at info@greenbizcheck.com.
